This premier institution of higher learning was established in 1908 and is now a university system composed of eight constituent universities and one autonomous college spread throughout 17 campuses in the archipelago. UP is a government university and students enrolled in UP have no tuition fee since these students are government scholars.


University of Santo Tomas (UST)

is a private, Catholic research university in Manila, Philippines. Founded on April 28, 1611, by Spanish friar Miguel de Benavides, Archbishop of Manila, it has the oldest extant university charter in the Philippines and in Asia and is one of the world’s largest Catholic universities in terms of enrollment found on one campus. This university has its own church and also a hospital where students can freely access it.

Far Eastern University

Far Eastern University, also known simply as FEU, is a private research university in Manila, Philippines, and is almost near the University of Santo Tomas or UST. Far Eastern University has different university branches located in Quezon City and Manila. 


These universities are the most popular school among fresh high school graduates and are believed to have the most difficult entrance exams for fresh graduates. However, despite the difficulty of entrance exams, there are still thousands of students eyeing these universities.
